Giving artists the space they need to create.
All artists need space to create.
Ideas are simple. But without the right resources to turn thoughts into things, ideas disappear without a trace—something that should never happen.
That’s why we’re proud to announce the launch of the LANDR Artist In Residence (L.A.I.R.), an ongoing project that will give creators unlimited studio space, resources and inspiration to finish a project.

The location will change. The artists will vary. One constant will remain: The continued evolution of music and the artists who create it.
The LANDR Artist in Residence is our way of giving back to the diverse and amazing music community that has always supported us.” – Pascal Pilon, LANDR CEO
L.A.I.R. 1 Los Angeles, CA 2016: Jesse Boykins III recording Bartholomew
For the first chapter of the LANDR Artist in Residence, Jesse Boykins III transformed a Hollywood house into a studio, hideaway, pirate ship, and incubator for all things music:
During the recording of his upcoming mixtape Bartholomew, A whole cast of collaborators came through to share Boykins’ vision—Willow Smith, Trinidad James, and Syd Tha Kid to name a few. But Boykins was always the navigator.
When the smoke cleared, and the driveway finally emptied, Bartholomew was finished. The L.A. based collective We Are Famous documented every step of Boykins’ process.
Watch the documentary and get an exclusive look into the process behind Bartholomew.
Each chapter of L.A.I.R. will give you, and music fans everywhere, a rare glimpse into the processes of artists pushing the boundaries of new music (hint: work and play are the same thing!).
